Join us for new studies in the new year! During the 9:30 Bible Hour, starting Sunday January 7, Pastor Matt will begin teaching on the four foundational words in our name: Grace Atlanta Bible Church. First, he will teach on grace, a Biblical concept often lacking in many churches today.  This study will last from January to February.

In the 11:00 Corporate Worship Service, Pastor Matt will be preaching through 1 Thessalonians. Come join our service and be encouraged as we study of a book filled with instructions on godly living and reminders of the reality of Christ’s second coming.  The new year is a great time to make church a priority. Please join us!

We are wrapping up our study of Zechariah during the Bible Study Hour in the next few weeks.  Currently we are surveying chapters 9-14, the section that is most often quoted in the New Testament. Last week we discussed the wise and foolish shepherds in Zechariah 11. Join us at 9:30 for our Zechariah study.

In our Sunday Morning Worship Service, we are nearing the end of James chapter 5. Recently, Pastor Matt has discussed how faith healers play on the deception of deluded people, and that instead, we must pray fervently and trust God for the outcome.  He reminded us that the Father saying no to the Son’s prayer (see Matthew 26:39) demolishes the belief that one’s faith is related to the fervency of our prayers. God, as a perfect parent, loves us enough to even say no to our prayers. Join us at 11 am for our study on the Book of James.

On December 17^th Pastor Matt will begin preaching Christmas themed messages. Please join us on Sunday December 24 for our special Christmas service.

After three weeks of elective classes, we are back to our study on Zechariah during the Bible Study Hour. Join us at 9:30 am as Pastor Matt continues teaching in chapter 8 with Zechariah’s fourth message to the post-exilic community. God still values truth, peace, and holiness just as much today as he for this community rebuilding their lives in the promised land.

Join us for our Sunday Morning Worship Service at 11 am. We are continuing to study through James, starting in chapter 5 this week. In chapter 4 we saw that our planning needs to be practical but not presumptuous, with humility guarding our steps. We are profoundly limited in our knowledge of tomorrow, so we should proceed humbly. All of our plans should be godly, wise and God-honoring.

Pastor Matt continues to teach through James during the Sunday Morning Worship Service. Join us at 11 am for the continuation of this study. We are currently in James chapter 4, discussing conflicts, humility, and our human selfishness.   

During the Bible Study Hour at 9:30 am, Pastor Matt is teaching through Zechariah, and we are currently in chapter 8. This is an interactive study with questions and comments welcomed from the class.

Join us for coffee and conversation at 10:30 am till 11 am during our Fellowship Break. This is a great time to get to know one another, share prayer requests, or ask questions about our church over a snack.

Join us as for Sunday Morning worship at 11 am.  This week, September 3, Pastor Matt will be preaching in James chapter 3. As we study the book of James together on Sunday mornings, we have been reminded that our belief and behavior should be in sync. Our faith should be at work, energizing our service. The author of James is interested in the visibility of our faith, not in a show-off fashion, but in a humble, yet detectable manner. James pleads for us to do something with our what we learn, just as Abraham’s faith and works cooperated to optimize his belief and to validate this to others, including to God Himself (see James 2: 22). We invite you to join us as we worship and study the Scriptures together.

Sunday morning Worship Service: We invite you to join us as we continue our study through the convicting New Testament book of James. Pastor Matt is preaching a study entitled “James: The Theology of Christian Practice” during the 11 am worship service.

During our Worship Service Pastor Matt is leading a study through the New Testament book of James, entitled “The Theology of Christian Practice.” From James 1:2-8 we saw that we need to think differently about trials (“to consider” is, after all a mental perspective, see 1:2). James does not ignore the painful reality of trials but wants us to change our thinking about trials before we can change our behavior.  We also need to think differently about wisdom. From James 1:7-16 we see we need to have the sense to ask for wisdom. God is not stingy with wisdom but according to Pastor Matt, we need to “ask God for wisdom with humble certainty and not arrogant presumption that He should give it.”  God is generous, compassionate, and faithful to give wisdom.  During our trials we need to look for blessings and for opportunities to accelerate our growth in the Lord. In Bible Study Hour we are studying “Zechariah: Visions of the Kingdom” as Zechariah reminds the post exilic community to put God’s priorities first and that sin interrupts the flow of blessings. This hour is interactive with questions and comments welcome from the class. Join us at 9:30 am for Bible Study Hour.

Worship Service: We have completed our study through 1 Corinthians! On Sunday June 4, Pastor Matt will begin preaching through the book of James, in a study entitled “The Theology of Christian Practice.” Join us Sunday mornings at 11 am, as we are reminded from Scripture that our belief and behavior should be in sync.

Bible Study Hour: Starting on June 18, at 9:30 am Pastor Matt will begin a study entitled “Zechariah: Visions of the Kingdom” during Bible Study Hour. Come learn about this often-neglected prophetical book.  Until then, Pastor Matt is teaching a few weeks on the Theories of the Atonement of Christ.

Bible Study Hour: For the first three weeks in May, we will be having elective classes in our downstairs classrooms. Join us for either: Pursuing Wisdom from Old Testament Women (a class for women), Rescued from this Present Evil Age: A Survey Through Galatians 1-3, or Old Testament Survey.  Elective classes will meet on May 7, 14 and 21 from 9:30-10:30 am.

Worship Service: During our corporate worship service, Pastor Matt will continue teaching through 1 Corinthians.  From chapter 15 we have learned about the danger of doubting the resurrection, as well as practical implications of the resurrection. Not only does the truth of the resurrection blunt the threat of death, (v. 29-32) it motivates us to purity (v.33-34).  In June, Pastor Matt will begin a study on the book of James entitled James: The Theology of Practical Christianity.

Please join us Sunday April 9 for our special Easter service as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Matt will continue preaching through 1 Corinthians as we look at chapter 15. His sermon is entitled The Veracity of the Resurrection, part 2. Our worship service is at 11 am.

Our Bible Hour is from 9:30- 10:30 am. Pastor Matt will continue his study on “ships” of the Christian fleet. We have studied Lordship, Discipleship and Fellowship and will continue with Worship and Stewardship. From 10:30 to 11 am we enjoy coffee and snacks together during our Fellowship Break.
