Join us for our corporate worship service at 11 am. Currently, we are in a three-week study of the Nicene Creed of 325. Pastor Matt has discussed Theology Proper in the first week, emphasizing that we are studying the Biblical truths imbedded in this document. In week one we looked at Gen 17:1, Job 40:2, Isaiah 13:6 and Revelation 16:7. Understanding that God the Father is Almighty reminds us that our knowledge is minuscule in comparison and that it is illogical not to trust Him! During the second week we discussed Critical Christology, and that “firstborn” comes from the Greek word “prototokos” meaning priority not chronology. Christ is unique and the Council of Nicaea was a formed to refute the erroneous teachings of Arius who said Jesus was not fundamentally God.
The upcoming sermon studies include Easter themes, a study of Romans 8, followed by a survey of 1 Kings during the summer.
During our 9:30 Bible Hour we are continuing our study through 1 Timothy. We are about to begin chapter 5, after Emanuel, one of our teens, recently taught on 1 Tim 4:6-16. Emanuel reminded us from this passage that we need to prioritize truth, train for godliness, set an example for other believers, and be devoted to God’s word.
