Current Studies

During our Worship Service Pastor Matt is leading a study through the New Testament book of James, entitled “The Theology of Christian Practice.” From James 1:2-8 we saw that we need to think differently about trials (“to consider” is, after all a mental perspective, see 1:2). James does not ignore the painful reality of trials but wants us to change our thinking about trials before we can change our behavior.  We also need to think differently about wisdom. From James 1:7-16 we see we need to have the sense to ask for wisdom. God is not stingy with wisdom but according to Pastor Matt, we need to “ask God for wisdom with humble certainty and not arrogant presumption that He should give it.”  God is generous, compassionate, and faithful to give wisdom.  During our trials we need to look for blessings and for opportunities to accelerate our growth in the Lord. Join us at 11 am as we continue our study on the book of James.

In Bible Study Hour we are studying “Zechariah: Visions of the Kingdom” as Zechariah reminds the post exilic community to put God’s priorities first and that sin interrupts the flow of blessings. This hour is interactive with questions and comments welcome from the class. Join us at 9:30 am for Bible Study Hour.
